Conception and Indian Astrology

Conception and Indian Astrology
Part -1
-         Pt.Nitin P.Kashyap

Human inception begins with the union of male and female. There are different views on appropriate timing for conception. This article  helps future parents to plan their baby according to Indian astrology so that the baby arrives with a lesser amount of difficulty and with the better prospect of growth.
According to Vedic science there are 16 samskar (events) which should be done in auspicious time. Birth, marriage and death are the important components of these 16 samskar. As death and birth both are out of our control, we cannot choose time for it on our own. Out of these 16 samskar conception is foremost and most important samskar. It is also known as Garbhadhaan samskar (गर्भाधान संस्कार)
You can associate this samskar with sowing seed in farm. If you sow a seed at adverse climatic conditions, the result is quite obvious there will be no or little growth of the plant. On the contrary seed sown in favorable climatic conditions will show great growth with limited use of resources. In this series of article we will share auspicious and inauspicious time for conception.
There is a mythological story related to importance of conceiving time.
Aditi and Diti are two sisters. They both married to sage Kashyap. Sage Kashyap and Aditi opt a good and favorable time for conception and by doing so they produce deities (Devta).
Seeing Aditi's being blessed with children; Diti too was impatient to have a son. So, she had asked Kashyapa for companionship. Though Kashyapa had accepted her demand, He had asked her to wait for an hour as it was considered inauspicious and unsuited time for conception. However; Diti; shaken by the obsession of love and lust, couldn't wait and demanded immediate attention, Sage Kashyapa had to accept her demand. She gave nativity to two unworthy sons who violated all the ethics and follow the unethical path ultimately killed by God.

There are other stories too which confirm that the timing of conception must be good. Here we are discussing only those factors which could be easily understood by a layman.
